If you use Joomla there is an exploit that you need to get patched as soon as possible. Hacks are ramping up against all versions of Joomla, starting earlier this week and affecting millions of websites that use the platform globally.

Affected versions range from Joomla 1.5 to 3.4.5. If you run a Joomla instance of 1.5 to 3.4.5 then we HIGHLY recommend you update your install of joomla right now and apply the security patch. Otherwise, your site could be hacked.

Here are the patches that you need to apply:

Luckily, if you are a customer of Servers Australia and on a server management plan, we can do this for you, otherwise we recommend you contact your developer or admin to have this issue fixed as soon as possible.

For more information about the hack, this post by Securi is very good. They suggest looking for requests from 146.0.72.83 or 74.3.170.33or 194.28.174.106 as they were the first IP addresses to start the exploitation.

If you’re a website owner and think you need a managed hosting solution, speak to the Servers Australia sales team on 02 72015063 or email [email protected]. We offer free migration and plans that allow us to manage and prevent these kind of attacks for you.
